Why quoting from a bare STEP file is slow
An RFQ that arrives as a bare STEP file makes every downstream step harder: the estimator has to open it in a CAD viewer and orbit the model to find overall size, hole counts and thicknesses; the quote goes out without a document the customer can sign off against; and if the job lands, the traveler and inspection sheet still need a drawing that nobody has made. Drawlytic collapses that chain — upload the customer's file, and in about a minute every part has a dimensioned multi-view drawing with the numbers an estimator actually reads first: bounding dimensions, counted hole groups (4ר8), thicknesses, radii and angles.
Because the drawing is generated with true hidden-line removal on the exact CAD geometry (OpenCascade kernel — not a traced screenshot), the sheet is credible enough to attach straight to the quotation: the customer sees their part, dimensioned, on a framed sheet with a title block carrying your project and part names.
From RFQ to machine with one upload
Assemblies split automatically into up to 30 parts, largest first, each with its own package: dimensioned drawing (SVG), PDF sheets in A4–A1 and Letter, an orthographic projection DXF with VISIBLE/HIDDEN layers, a 1:1 top-view DXF on a dedicated CUT layer for laser, plasma or waterjet, and an STL reference. You orient each part the way you'll fixture or cut it — lay-face-flat in the 3D preview — and rename parts to your own part numbers before generating, so every sheet and file carries your numbering.
For inspection, the free Measure & adjust mode adds the dimensions your CMM or caliper plan needs — point-to-point distances, diameters, angles — and re-renders the sheets at a true paper scale (1:1 to 1:8) so printed sheets measure correctly on the shop floor. Cross sections for internal features are free as well, delivered as separate SECTION A-A sheets.
Projects live in your account: quote now, retrieve the same drawing package when the PO lands weeks later, no re-upload needed. Deleted projects go to a recycle bin for 30 days before being purged permanently.

Are customer files kept private?
Files are stored in your private account, used only to generate your drawings, and you can delete a project (model + all outputs) at any time.
Can dimensions be adjusted for inspection?
Yes — the measure tool adds point-to-point and diameter dimensions, and sheets re-render at fixed paper scales for caliper checks.
What does it cost to try?

Do we need a CAD seat or any installation?
No — everything runs in the browser. Anyone on the team can turn a customer STEP file into a drawing package without occupying a CAD license.
What if the customer sends DWG or STL instead of STEP?
DWG: ask for a DXF export (or export it yourself — every CAD does it) and upload the DXF. STL/OBJ/3MF meshes can't be dimensioned exactly, so request a real STEP export — it's two clicks in any CAD system.
How fast is a typical part?
Seconds once the engine is warm; the first drawing after a quiet period can take up to a minute extra while the engine boots. A 20-part assembly typically finishes in a couple of minutes.
